Vernon Carey, Sr. is a hometown guy. Born and raised in Miami, he played football at Northwestern Senior High School, before going on to play in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins for 7 seasons. Following his retirement, Carey returned to Miami to open Green Envy, a neighborhood carryout restaurant with a food truck and a location in Liberty City. On the menu, Green Envy features a variety of alternatives to the soul food and fast food commonly found in the neighborhood. Gregory Gourdet's long awaited Portland, Oregon restaurant Kann is finally open. Steeped in Haitian culture with an emphasis on seasonal and local Pacific Northwest ingredients, it is as colorful as it is delicious. And it's the toughest reservation in town.
